Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom cast:
The DC Comics character Aquaman is the inspiration for the upcoming American superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. It is set to be the sequel to Aquaman (2018) and the thirteenth film in the DC Extended Universe, with DC Films, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster Productions producing and Warner Bros. Pictures distributing. In the film directed by James Wan from a storey written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa stars as Arthur Curry / Aquaman with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
During the production of the first picture, Momoa proposed a plot for an Aquaman sequel, but Wan declined to move through with it. He decided to oversee film sequel’s production in January 2019, and Johnson-McGoldrick agreed to write the script a month later. Wan said that he will helm the film in August 2020, adding that it will elaborate on the worldbuilding of the original Aquaman. He declared this title of the film in June 2021, with shooting beginning later that month in London.
Earlier this year, James Wan stunned everyone by delivering an all-around entertaining Aquaman. The sixth instalment of the DC Extended Universe was an unexpected change of pace for the franchise, with a very charming Jason Momoa front and centre as the titular King of Atlantis. Aquaman defied expectations and surpassed expectations at the box office, collecting more than $1 billion and becoming the highest-grossing DC Comics film to date. As a result, it’s hardly unexpected that a sequel is in the works. DC Comics and Warner Bros. are attempting to strike lightning twice with Aquaman 2, which is just around the corner and features numerous key actors returning for more. From the DCEU, here’s all we know about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
