The music for the next Mission: Impossible film was composed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also directed and authored the previous two Mission: Impossible films. The next film, featuring Tom Cruise as the unrivalled international spy Ethan Hunt, will put all of the new and old characters to the test.
Although not much is known about Mission: Impossible 7, what we do know points to a massive action narrative that appears to be a worthy addition to the blockbuster franchise. Continue reading to find more about the film’s release dates, cast, characters, production details, and more.
The film’s scheduled release date has been pushed back once further due to the long-term impact of the Delta version in the United States, and it now seems like it won’t hit theatres until September 2022.
Production on the Fallout sequel hit a snag in June 2021 when a crew member tested positive for COVID-19, but it has since resumed – and Tom Cruise and co-star Hayley Atwell were recent times noticed shooting scenes in a Birmingham shopping complex that had been converted into an Abu Dhabi airport for the shoot.
The coronavirus halted everything, including production, and the release date for the seventh feature was moved back to November 2021, then to May 27, 2022, and eventually to September 30, 2022.
“I believe Paramount was very careful and prudent in pulling the project out of Venice,” the actor added. “It’s a large bunch of people, and we were filming carnival sequences, so staying would have been foolish, so we bailed out.”
The actors and crew of the film will work in a coronavirus-free environment, and Cruise is said to have put up Winnebago trailers for the stars to reside in while filming on the RAF base.
“The film has already been badly delayed, and there’s no indication of things returning to normal any time soon,” a source told The Sun, “so this is a method to attempt to get things up and running again fast and securely.”
In both films, Tom Cruise reprises his role as daredevil IMF agent Ethan Hunt, with Rebecca Ferguson reprising her role as MI6 associate Ilsa Faust until at least Mission: Impossible 7.
The first major new addition was Hayley Atwell, who will play the female lead in both films and is well recognised for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hold your horses while the movie is being made. A teaser will be released closer to the film’s release date, which is expected to be in late 2021.
However, we do have this tantalising photograph from the set, which looks to suggest another death-defying stunt in the forthcoming film for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.
